Huh  I just purchased the Treo Pro this week through Alltel and proceeded to download the ringtones I had on my old phone.  I put the ringtones in the My Ringtones folder and then went to apply them and they would not work.  These are the full ringtone downloads, not a clipped version.  The message I get is:

The ringtone file is corrupted or unavailable.  Please choose a different ringtone.

The ringtones were sent to my SMS \ MMS and they play from the messages there, but will not play from the My Ringtones folder with the Windows application.  There is an option in the SMS \ MMS window to Protect the file.  Do I need to do this?

Any help or suggestions would be great as I know the employees at the Alltel store will not have a fix, at least not for awhile.

Thanks.

Try transfering them via bluetooth and see if you get the same result

Transferring the files via bluetooth did not work.  Is it something with Windows Mobile 6.1?  Not sure what the bit rate is for the MP3 files.....does it have to be 128 kbs versus 196 kbs???   Huh

I would say if you can download them to your computer then transfer them to your ringtones folder, you can either convert them to WAV formats too and they my work that way.
